Examples of how 24 hour postural solutions may work
24 HOUR APPROACH BEFORE
Standard implementation of a 24 hour approach for a client who is wheelchair dependant
Here we can see how an individual (before the implementation of a 24 hour approach) may have spent his or her day
24 HOUR APPROACH AFTER - EXAMPLE 1
The implementation of a 24 hour approach for a client who may be able to walk and stand for short periods during the day
A programme for the client who has the ability to walk and stand:
- A programme would be designed in conjunction with the local physiotherapist, who is implementing a daily walking programme (using a walking frame) and a standing programme (using an appropriately set-up standing frame).
- The aim is for the programme to be lead and monitored by the local physiotherapist and implemented by the carers.
- Other areas considered are slings, hoisting, spasticity management, splinting and clothing adaptations.
24 HOUR APPROACH AFTER - EXAMPLE 2
The implementation of a 24 hour approach for a client who may be able to walk and stand for short periods during the day
